Heroic Marriage Proposal at Comic Con

Chris Evans and Haley Atwell help a cosplaying couple get engaged at the Salt Lake City Comic Con this past weekend.

For many guys, popping the question to the woman you want to spend the rest of your life with is an event that a lot of time and energy is put into, as was the case of a Captain America cosplayer attending the Salt Lake City Comic Con with his cosplaying Black Widow girlfriend.

Kelsy Jenkins of Las Vegas traveled to Salt Lake City with her boyfriend to attend the city’s annual Comic Con event and when it was the cosplaying dou’s turn to take a $255.00 photo with Chris Evans (Captain America) and Haley Atwell (Agent Carter), a very well laid out plan came to fruition as Kelsy’s real-life Captain America cosplayer boyfriend got down on one knee and surprised both Marvel film stars (Evans & Atwell) along with his girlfriend alike when he asked Kelsy to marry him.

Haley Atwell had this to say about the event on Twitter, “Today at #SLCC15 in the middle of a photo op with Chris and I, a man got down on his knee and proposed with a ring to his girlfriend. It was one of the most moving and beautiful things I have been witness to. Congratulations to you both. May you have a blissful future xx.”

Kelsey Jenkins then replied, “Thank you so much for being there. It was such a shock! You both are awesome! #iAmEngaged.

With Chris Evans later tweeting,  “Had the most amazing time at #SLCC15. I’ve been to a few conventions before but I’ve never had the opportunity to interact with the fans on such a personal level. They shared some wonderful stories that I was honored to hear. I’m filled with a overwhelming sense of gratitude. Thank you to all of my loyal, sincere, loving, and passionate fans from the very bottom of my heart. You’ve reminded me how gratuitously lucky I am. #weareallconnected.

Needless to say that for any comic fans and cosplaying couples, that’s the way you do it baby and well done Captain. EXSELSIOR!!!
