‘Godzilla 2′ has been given a summer 2018 release date of June 8.

The movie, which premiered earlier this year roared its way to $507.7 million worldwide.

It was revealed last month that the sequel would feature three classic monsters from the classic 50s Japanese movies. These include Rodan, Mothra and Ghidorah.

“Godzilla 2’ will once again see Gareth Edwards take the directors chair, but before he can set to work on ‘Godzilla 2’ Edwards will have to finish work on his ‘Star Wars’ spinoff movie for Disney Studios and Lucasfilm, which is set for a 2016 release.

The filmmaker has admitted to experiencing panic while making Godzilla, saying: “I controlled that by telling myself, ‘If this is the only thing I ever do in my life, I’ve got to go out in a blaze of glory’.”
