‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot Recruits Sigourney Weaver

Director Paul Feig announced that Weaver would join other original cast members Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts in the new film.

A few days back it was revealed that Ernie Hudson from the original ‘Ghostbusters’ was spotted on the set of the rebooted all female version of the classic film series.

Well it looks like another original cast member from the classic film has joined the cast of this reboot.

Director  Paul Feig announced that Weaver would join other original cast members Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts in the new film.

“Gang, trying to keep surprises but this is about to leak,” Feig tweeted, “so I’ll tell you myself: the awesome Sigourney Weaver is going to be in our movie!”

In the 1984 original film, Weaver played cellist Dana Barrett, whose apartment is haunted by the spirit of the demigod Zuul. She reprised the role in the 1989 sequel. It’s not known what role she’ll play in the reboot.

The movie wrapped principal photography last weekend and will be released July 22, 2016.
