‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Joining Sky Atlantic’s ‘The Last Dragonslayer’

'Game Of Thrones' Regular John Bradley To Star In New Sky One Fantasy Film

John Bradley who is better known to ‘Game Of Thrones’ fans as Samwell Tarly has landed himself a role in a new fantasy movie, which is being made by Sky Atlantic for the Christmas season.

Based on the first of Jasper Fforde’s novels, ‘The Last Dragonslayer’ will air as part of Sky Atlantics programming over Christmas of 2016 with John Bradley amongst its potentially epic cast.

Ricky Tomlinson and newcomer Ellise Chappell will also appear in the magical adventure, which follows orphan Jennifer Strange (Chappell) as she discovers her destiny is to become the last Dragonslayer.

“Hot on the heels of the success of Fungus the Bogeyman, we’re incredibly excited to commission another Christmas drama event for Sky1,” said Sky commissioning editor Cameron Roach.
“For 2016, an adaptation of Jasper Fforde’s The Last Dragonslayer holds all of the ingredients for the perfect seasonal treat for the entire family; wizards, dragons, a kick-ass heroine and the perfect magical cast led by Ricky Tomlinson, Ellise Chappell and John Bradley.”

The Last Dragonslayer begins filming this month and will be shown exclusively on Sky Atlantic in the UK and Ireland.

Fforde has written three books in his Last Dragonslayer book series, with a fourth currently scheduled for release in late 2017.
