Fourth Doctor Who Tom Baker Lands Mysterious ‘Star Wars’ Role

Baker said: "I'm going to be in this new Star Wars thing, you know?"

The much loved Tom Baker who is best known to genre fans for his role as the fourth Doctor Who has landed himself a role in one of the new ‘Star Wars’ projects , but the question is who or what will he be.

The ‘Doctor Who’ star made the revelation as he signed fans’ memorabilia during the Day of the Doctor convention in Slough, according to Sci-Fi Fantasy Network.

Baker said: “I’m going to be in this new Star Wars thing, you know? I’m going down to record some voices for this new character they’ve created for me, very soon.”

The big question remains. Who will he play in and just how big or small of a role does he have?

Over a long and storied career Baker has played classic characters such as ‘Sherlock Holmes’ as well as the Doctor, but in recent years he has been more well known for his voice work in such series as ‘Little Britain’.

Then there is the matter of which ‘Star Wars’ project will he be in. Rian Johnson’s Episode 8 is currently in production, alongside cartoon ‘Star Wars: Rebels’ and the first Star Wars spin-off film, ‘Rogue One’. Maybe he will have a voice role in the video game ‘Star Wars: Battlefront’ or even provide his voice for the new ‘Star Wars Land’ theme park. Its anyone’s guess. The one thing we do know though is that the force must be strong in Tom Baker for him to have landed such a plumb gig.
