Tregenna who has written for hit shows such as ‘Eastenders,’ ‘Casualty’ and ‘Law and Order UK’ made her first foray into the world of science fiction when she was a regular writer during the first two seasons of ‘Torchwood’.

Series nine will mark Peter Capaldi’s second full series of Doctor Who following his debut in this year’s 12-part run and next month’s Christmas special.

Tregenna will be the first female writer to contribute to the show since 2008.
