With that said TWD Zone indicates that the first victim of Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) via his trusty vampire bat ‘Lucille’ is to be none other than Abraham as played by Michael Cudlitz. It seems that Negan chooses Abraham as his victim and after Negan begins brutally smashing in Abraham’s skull, it is in fact Daryl (Norman Reedus) who moves and tries to intervene.
As a result however of Daryl not heeding Negan’s warning from the season six season finale in which he tells Rick’s group, “The first offense is free. But I will shut that shit down, no exceptions.”, after Glenn as played by Steven Yhen, lunges in defense of his wife Maggie as played by Lauren Cohan, another member of Rick’s team is killed. In fact, it is being reported by TWD Zone that fan favorite and series original Glenn is chosen by Negan to also be killed in the season seven premiere.
Negan apparently forces Rosita as played by Christian Serrators to look at Lucille as it is covered with Abraham’s blood and brain matter. It is at this point that Daryl seemingly loses it and lashes out by trying to strike members of Negan’s Saviors which may in fact result in Glenn’s death with the rest of Rick’s group able to do nothing but watch, mourn and cry.
Negan will at some point tell Rick as played by Andrew Lincoln, “Bet you thought you were all gonna grow old together, sittin’ around the table at Sunday dinner and the happily ever after. No. Doesn’t work like that, Rick. Not any more.”
Rick will also reportedly experience some flashbacks of his people taken prisoners by Negan, in which he is seated at an outside dinner table with them and with others from Alexandria, along with Glenn and Abraham sitting at the head of the table. Sadly, we may even see Glenn holding a baby, which is presumably his and Maggie’s unborn child.
Maggie and Sasha as played by Sonequa Martin will then apparently go to the Hilltop so as to allow Maggie to rest and get the medical attention she needs, while the rest of the remaining and mourning group return to Alexandria. The mood will seem to be somber with Maggie reportedly telling Rick to go back to Alexandria in order to get their people ready to fight Negan and his group.
It also seems that Negan tries to get Rick to submit to his will by potentially threatening to cut off Carl’s (Chandler Riggs) hand as Negan attempts to force Rick to choose between Carl’s hand or the rest of the group’s lives. Michonne as played by Danai Gurira apparently pleads with Negan as he is trying to force Rick to hack off his son’s hand saying, “You don’t need to do this, we understand.” to which Negan seems to say, “Oh, yes, I know YOU understand. But I am not sure Rick here understands.”
Needing to get Rick to bend to his will he then may take Rick inside of the RV for a ride and does not it seems beat him, but rather attempts to show Rick how the things will work now and that there is a new order which Rick needs to understand and accept.
Negan it seems will also take Daryl prisoner as perhaps further leverage over Rick and his group so as to discourage future attempts to stand against his rule or kill him as Rick promises while he is on his knees. As he chooses Daryl as a prisoner he will say, “I like him. He’s got balls. Not like some pussy I know.”
The sense given by not only the description generally of the episode but also from TWD Zone’s impression is that the Walking Dead season seven premiere is in fact dark, disturbingly brutal and unlike any other episode delivered by Robert Kirkman and the show’s producers to date.
The season seven premiere will run approximately 43 minutes and begin on AMC this coming Sunday night October 23 at 9:00 p.m. Enjoy!!!
