In this edition of DC Round-Up, new characters will be introduced into the CW DCU, and the overall TV DCU gets some Emmy nominations.

Arrow Executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed via Twitter that episode 4×01 is titled “Green Arrow.”

Moreover, there’s information about the characters joining the newly minted Green Arrow’s story. Entertainment Weekly has a bit about the new Big Bad…

Is there anything you can tease about the new Arrow villain Damien Darhk? — Darlene

It’s safe to say that Damien is the reason Oliver returns to Starling City to suit up once again. “[Oliver] left the city in very good hands,” EP Marc Guggenheim tells me. “He entrusted Laurel, Diggle and Thea to mind the fort. Damien represents a threat that three heroes are not enough to combat. When we’ve written the villains — the big bads of the season — we always took the approach that they were heroes of their own story. They were doing the wrong thing for what they consider the right things. That’s not the case with Damien. He’s not nearly as moral. We wanted a villain who was pure evil because we’ve never really done that on the show before. That’s what Damien represents. He’s the prince of darkness.”

Comic Book Resources had the scoop on a lesser villain who will undoubtedly seek to make an impression on Damien Darhk…

Anarky is coming to “Arrow” in the show’s upcoming fourth season, and CBR has the exclusive first word on who will be playing the role: Alexander Calvert, who has previously been seen in “Bates Motel” and “The Returned.” It’s a recurring role for Calvert, who will debut in the role in the second episode of “Arrow” season four.

Here’s the official description of the character: “Lonnie Machin (AKA Anarky) is a deranged freelancing criminal who is willing to do whatever it takes to impress a potential employer.” Anarky was first announced to be joining “Arrow” last weekend at Comic-Con International in San Diego, as revealed during Warner Bros. Television and DC Entertainment’s Saturday night Hall H presentation.

Finally, Entertainment Weekly reported that Team Arrow will make a new friend while grappling with these new foes…

Echo Kellum has landed a recurring role on the upcoming season of Arrow, EW learned exclusively.

The Ben and Kate alum will play Curtis Holt, aka Mr. Terrific. Holt is a technological savant and inventor who works at Palmer Technologies under the supervision of Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards).

In the comics, Mr. Terrific’s alter-ego is Michael Holt, an extremely intelligent Olympic-level athlete who joined the justice Society of America following the death of his wife and unborn child.

ComicBook.Com had scoop on the villain appearing on the second season premiere of The Flash…

The upcoming, second season of The CW’s The Flash will feature former WWE Superstar Adam Copeland as Atom-Smasher, ComicBook.com has learned and CW has confirmed exclusively.

He will appear in the season premiere, currently filming, and contrary to what the name might suggest, he’s not on the good guys’ side.

Here’s how The CW describes his character: “One of the most powerful enemies we encounter this season, Atom Smasher has come to Central City to kill The Flash.  His incredible strength and ability to grow to enormous size makes him more than a match for Flash and the entire S.T.A.R. Labs team will have to come together to find a way to defeat him.”

Additionally, Comic Book Resources interviewed the cast of The Flash at Comic-Con and discovered how and when Jay Garrick fit into the story…

“When our writers show an Easter egg like the helmet coming out of the singularity, it means it’s going to be on the show at some point,” star Grant Gustin told CBR News. “I’d expect to see Jay Garrick sooner rather than later,” he added, further hinting that Garrick’s role may be that of a mentor to Barry. By the second episode, the pair will be working together, and Barry will learn a new trick. “It involves lightning. It’s pretty different from anything else we’ve done.”

Finally, Entertainment Weekly learned what role The Flash will play in the wider CW DCU…

Will the new season of The Flash explain why Robbie Amell isn’t signed on for Legends of Tomorrow? — Rienne

Yes! According to Victor Garber, you’ll find out what’s going on with Ronnie Raymond in the season premiere. Also, the first seven episodes of both The Flash and Arrow will act as a “table setting” for Legends, says EP Marc Guggenheim. “We’re putting pieces back on the chessboard,” which includes actually introducing Kendra Saunders (Ciara Renée), aka Hawkgirl, on The Flash first.

Thanks to Twitter, there’s a premiere date for the Vixen web series…
