Dakota Blue Richards Would Love A Role In ‘His Dark Materials’

The actress reacted to plans for Philip Pullman's epic fantasy trilogy of novels to be turned into a new TV series by saying she hopes to be involved.

Dakota Blue Richards, who played the role of orphan Lyra in the movie ‘The Golden Compass’ has revealed that she’d love to go up for a role in the BBC adaptation of ‘His Dark Materials’.

The actress reacted to plans for Philip Pullman’s epic fantasy trilogy of novels to be turned into a new TV series by saying she hopes to be involved.

“I would so love to be a part of this,” she said on Twitter.

Seemingly Philip Pullman who will executive produce on the series is more than happy for Blue Richards to be involved.

When BBC Entertainment journalist Lizo mzimba tweeted that it be great to see Dakota Blue Richard’s guest on the series Pullman agreed with him.

Richards made her screen debut in the 2007 film adaptation of first book ‘The Golden Compass’ as Lyra. Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig also starred.

But sequels made from the second and third books in the series were shelved due to the disappointing financial performance of the movie and the worldwide recession following the banking crisis.
