We’ve been following the fortunes of ‘The Crow’ reboot for awhile now. And am not lying. It’s been a rollercoaster ride of cast changes and production delays and all manner of obstacles.

Thankfully it seems that the drama behind the scenes is over.

And this is in spite of the fact that they haven’t confirmed an actor for the lead role yet.

According The Wrap production is to move forward on ‘The Crow’ and the leading contender to play the role of Eric Draven is still Jason Momoa who is best known for his roles in ‘Stargate Atlantis’, ‘Game Of Thrones’ and most recently ‘Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice’. Of course us being charitable we’ll conveniently forget about the actors brief stint in ‘Baywatch’.

Momoa also dropped his own massive hint about becoming Eric Draven on Instagram last month, when he shared a picture of himself and The Crow director Corin Hardy sharing a drink with the hashtag “#sealthedeal”.

‘The Crow’ first hit movie theatres and home video back in 1994 when the titular character was played by Brandon Lee the late son of Martial arts great Bruce Lee. Sadly like his father Brandon died very, very young and never had the chance to fulfil his full potential as a Hollywood star. As such the fortunes of the ‘Crow’ movie franchise waned as the title character would be played by various actors in a shedload of straight to Home Video releases.

This reboot will not be taking anything from the 1994 movie. Instead it will play much truer to the comic book series, which spawned the character.

Comic creator James O’Barr previously promised a very different take on his original book for the movie, saying: “[We’re] not remaking the movie. We’re re-adapting the book.”

“If you read the comic, Eric and Shelley never have their last names revealed,” he added.

“Hopefully, this is one area the new movie being more faithful to the comic will come into play, and Eric won’t be going by Eric Draven in the new film.”

James O’Barr’s cult comic was originally adapted for the 1994 film starring Brandon Lee and directed by Alex Proyas.

It follows Eric Draven, who is brutally murdered along with his fiancée the night before their wedding.
