The new DC television series ‘Constantine,’ which recently began airing in the USA is to get its UK released through Amazons Video On Damand service, which is part of the Amazon Prime package.
The series, which is based on the Hellblazer Comics stars Matt Ryan as titular character John Constantine, who has the misfortune of being able to see a much bigger picture than us average humans – and uses his skills to hunt demons and protect the innocent.
The first episode is already available to watch for Amazon Prime customers, with subsequent episodes to be released in the UK hours after their US premiere.
The series launch on Amazon Prime Instant Video is part of the service’s week-long Halloween takeover, which will also feature horror-themed films including ‘Resident Evil: Retribution,’ ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2′ and ‘Evil Dead’.
“It’s the one night of the year when audiences around the world are looking for a fright, so we’re delighted to be making the UK exclusive first episode of Constantine available to Prime Instant Video customers this Halloween,” said Chris Bird, Director of Content Strategy at Amazon Instant Video.
“Constantine is a great addition to the catalogue of spooky TV shows and frightening films already made available for unlimited streaming during our Halloween takeover, featuring alongside classics like The Craft and An American Werewolf in London, and contemporary favourites like Warm Bodies.”
Constantine launched on NBC in the US on Friday (October 24), pulling in an audience of 4.3m.
