Chris Pine In Talks To Play Steve Trevor In ‘Wonder Woman’

Variety reports that Pine will play Gal Gadot's love interest in the film.

Chris Pine, who is best known as the younger version of Captain Kirk in the recent ‘Star Trek’ movies is in discussions to take on the role of Steve Trevor in the new ‘Wonder Woman’ film, which is being made by Warner Bros.

Variety reports that Pine will play Gal Gadot’s love interest in the film.

In the comics Steve Trevor is the boss of Diana Prince Wonder Woman’s alias in the real world and he has been the regular love interest for her throughout most of the comic books life time.

The role was played by Lyle Waggoner in the 1970s television show, which to date is the most successful television incarnation of the DC comics character.

For awhile there were rumors that Scott Eastwood would play the character, but he seemingly chose to take on a guaranteed supporting role in ‘Suicide Squad’ as apposed to testing for a role, which was not as much of a sure thing.

Patty Jenkis is directing the 2017 movie which was written by Jason Fuchs. In the comics, Trevor was Wonder Woman’s love interest in World War II, and when that was retconned, he was her love interest in the present day and also the go between for the Justice League with the United States government.

There is no word as of yet as to which version of Steve Trevor Pine will play should he get the role, but it be interesting to see how all this pans out. So watch this space.
