Batman Vs Superman To Recreate Iconic Dark Knight Origins Scene

Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice is truly setting itself up as a precursor to ‘Justice League’ by recreating a scene from the popular Batman comic ‘Dark Knight Origins’.

While shooting in Chicago last week Zack Snyder‘s superhero blockbuster recreated the moment when Bruce Wayne witnessed his parents being murdered after an alleyway mugging. It’s an important moment in setting up the character of Batman and its a moment that pretty much most Batman projects have always gone back to when setting up a new incarnation of the character.

The scene first played out in the November 1939 issue of Detective Comics, with Joe Chill identified as the killer.

Subsequent films, TV shows, comics and video games have replayed the murder, although Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman changed the killer from Chill to Jack Nicholson’s Jack Napier, who eventually became The Joker.

As we already know. Much of the inspiration for the Batman that features in ‘Batman Vs Superman’ is taken from the much discussed Frank Miller mini series ‘Dark Knight Returns’ in which a sixty something Batman comes out of retirement to once again clean up the streets of Gotham.

‘Dawn of Justice’ will pit Superman (Henry Cavill) against Batman (Ben Affleck) on the big screen for the first time.

Iconic supervillain Lex Luthor will be played by Oscar-nominated ‘Social Network’ star Jesse Eisenberg, while Gal Gadot will star as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa has the role of Aquaman, Jeremy Irons will take on the part of Bruce Wayne’s butler Alfred and Ray Fisher will feature as Cyborg.
