Ant-Man Joins The Avengers In ‘Captain America: Civil War’

The studio confirmed yesterday that petty thief-turned hero Scott Lang (Rudd) will be seen alongside the Avengers as production on the third Captain America movie begins in Atlanta, Georgia.

Marvel have announced that Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man will join up with the Avengers in next years ‘Captain America: Civil War’.

The studio confirmed yesterday that petty thief-turned hero Scott Lang (Rudd) will be seen alongside the Avengers as production on the third Captain America movie begins in Atlanta, Georgia.

Marvel further revealed that we’ll see the return of William Hurt as General Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross from 2008’s ‘The Incredible Hulk’, as is Paul Bettany as The Vision from ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’.
The film also sees the return of  Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle and Elizabeth Olsen in their respective comic book roles.

Also returning will be the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), ex-SHIELD agent Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) and Crossbones (Frank Grillo).

Captain America: Civil War will include newcomers Chadwick Boseman as the Black Panther, Daniel Brühl as Baron Zemo and Martin Freeman in an undisclosed role as well.

No casting announcement has been made for the role of Spider-Man, who is widely speculated to be making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Civil War.

The sequel focuses on an Avengers mission-gone-wrong causing the formation of a government body to assign accountability and decide when to call in the team.

This decision causes a fracture among the heroes and villains of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, leading to a showdown between former friends Captain America and Iron Man.

‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo are returning for ‘Civil War’, and will also direct the next two ‘Avengers’ movies.

Production on ‘Captain America: Civil War’ begins in Atlanta, before moving to Germany, Puerto Rico and Iceland.

Marvel Studios releases Captain America: Civil War on April 29, 2016 in the UK and May 6 in the US.
